Shared Finance In a Committed Relationship

I am a firm believer in shared finances within a committed partnership. My wife and I have been together for 13 years, three of which we have spent as a married couple. From the moment we moved in together and took our relationship to the next level, I suggested we open a joint bank account. My girlfriend at the time (now my wife) agreed, and thus began our journey towards shared financial responsibility.
